Race for Recovery

On Saturday 18th June 2011, Duke of York Square supported the BRUT Race for Recovery event.

In 2010 BRUT ran the Race for Recovery in aid of one of their favorite charities, Help for Heroes. Help for Heroes represents everything that BRUT hold close to their hearts; determination, courage, hope in the face of adversity and luckily a sense of humour. After last years success they wanted to raise even more money for the wonderful charity again this year.

This weekend, at the Duke of York’s Barracks in Chelsea there was Military Personal Fitness Assessments open to the public, 2 minutes of press ups followed by 2 minutes of sit ups and a 1.5 mile run! Physical training instructors were on hand to give advice and encouragement to all those taking part.

All those taking part paid £10 for the session and all of this money went straight to Help for Heroes, who provide support to wounded servicemen and women.

The event was a great success. If you weren’t able to make it down to Chelsea at the weekend but still want to contribute then you can do so at the following address. http://www.bmycharity.com/brut
