Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, a national treasure in the foodie calendar, returns this year on 25 February. Whether it marks the start of lent, or is just an excuse to smother Nutella and other deliciousness across piles of pancakes, the Square has some flippin’ amazing pancake options.
Start your day at Manicomio Cafe with a plate of steaming hot pancakes; pick from blueberry pancakes with creme fraiche and maple syrup or dive into pancakes with crisp bacon, fried egg doused in maple syup. Yum, glutenous and a brilliant antidote to Pancake Day.
Bogar Poffert will be outside Partridges from 10am-4pm treating us to Dutch Mini Pancakes, wonderfully fluffy with an assortment of toppings. Perfect to get your on-the-go hit.
Or head in-store to pick up the essentials to enjoy yours horizontal on the sofa. From fruit, honey, sugar and lemons and even savoury ingredients (plus, the ready-made mix in a jar… shh), Partridges shelves are stocked with all the magic ingredients for the perfect pancake stack.
