‘Chelsea in Bloom’ saw the streets of the Chelsea Shopping Area blossom with spectacular floral displays as the stores battled to win the coveted floral crown. The alternative floral art show was organised in support of the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society ‘Chelsea Flower Show’.
This years theme was Oriental Chic and the local participating retailers brought the theme to life across the Kings Road, Sloane Street and Duke of York Square.
There were guided tours of all the participating stores and their floral displays every half hour starting at the information point in Sloane Square which were a great success, despite the weather!
Sloane Square was host to a ‘grow your own’ vegetable garden workshop where visitors were able to get professional advise on how to achieve best results at home.
The judges had a hard decision to make as all the participating retailers created beautiful oriental inspired displays. But, as in all competitions, there could only be one overall winner. To find out the 2011 Chelsea in Bloom winners click here.
