The Saatchi Gallery have announced The New Black Vanguard: Photography between Art and Fashion exhibition will be on view from 28 October 2022 – 22 January 2023.
The New Black Vanguard presents artists whose vibrant portraits and conceptual images fuse the genres of art and fashion photography in ways that break down long-established boundaries. Created by American writer and critic Antwaun Sargent, the exhibition includes selected works from 15 ground-breaking contemporary photographers including Nadine Ijewere, Tyler Mitchell and Daniel Obasi.
The fresh perspective works celebrate the Black creativity and open up conversations around the representation of the Black body and Black lives as subject matter.
