BA 2119: Flight of the Future at Saatchi

The world’s first scheduled international flight departed from Hounslow Heath to Paris on 25 August 1919 in a single-engine De Havilland DH4A by British Airways’ predecessor Air Transport and Travel (AT&T). Since then, British Airways went from strength to strength, pioneering longer trips across the globe in larger and larger flying machines now with more than 800 flights a day to 200 destinations worldwide.

Through in-depth research and in partnership with the Royal College of Art, British Airways presents this fascinating exhibition, which is free to attend, exploring aviation in the next 100 years and how future generations will explore the world, from 1-26 August.

In addition to the exhibition, book tickets to a first-its-kind interactive, multi-sensory virtual relaity experience tracing our relationship with flight. Created by award-winning VR creators, to tun you into a time-travelling pilot from the earliest imaginings of Leonardo da Vinci and his ornithopter, today’s A350 and onwards to the possible future of aviation.
