For one night only – on Friday 9th October – local homeless charity Glass Door will host a Sleep Out event at Duke of York Square, where hundreds of people are expected to brave a night ‘under the stars’ (whatever the weather) to raise money for emergency accommodation in West London.
You are now able to sign up for the event at www.glassdoor.org.uk/sleepout2015.htm
Experience a small taste of some of the difficulties that so many people who are homeless in the Capital have to deal with – freezing cold, vulnerability, and the difficulty of carrying on your day with little sleep – and raise money for a very worthwhile cause at the same time.
This is the event’s third year. In 2014 it raised £140,000 – enough to fund a new winter shelter. Participants have described the event as inspiring and thought provoking.
In line with government guidelines, our shops and restaurants remain open only for essential retail, virtual shopping appointments, takeaway food and click and collect services.
But our Christmas lights are sparkling, the Fine Food market will continue to take place on the running track each Saturday (with full safety measures in place) and many of our restaurants will deliver their delicious food to the comfort of your home.
