We’re fast approaching one of Britain’s greatest days for foodies, Pancake Day, on 5 March. Whether you prefer a crepe or consider yourself more of a fluffy American pancake fiend, we’ve flipped through all the options to find the best suggestions from the Square.
Our much-loved pancake man from L’Amouse Bouche will be taking up residency outside Partridges offering crepes throughout the day. The perfect treat for those on-the-go; pick up yours to get your seasonal fix.
Prefer to sit down and indulge? Visit Gallery Mess for their blueberry pancakes, the perfect way to make your tummy smile. Tuck into a plate of blueberry pancakes with caramelised apple, vanilla crème fraiche and maple syrup. We can’t think of a better way to start the day!
Or if you’d rather whip up a feast in the comfort of your own home, local greengrocer Partridges not only have delicious ready-made mix from household favourites, Betty Crocker and Aunt Jemima, but they also have all the toppings a pancake fan could wish for. Pick up a jar of Cloudberry’s Sea Salted Caramel Mix or any of their fresh ingredients to put together your Shrove Tuesday showstopper. Opting for savoury? Why not try mushroom and brie, or smoked salmon and hollandaise, but if like us you’ve got a sweet tooth, top with ice cream, warm banana slices and banoffee sauce for the ultimate sugar kick.
