London Remembers WW1

Join the Chelsea Pensioners and military representatives from London for a unique parade down the King’s Road followed by a community event for all the family on Saturday, 1 September.

The Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association for Greater London have teamed up with the Chelsea Pensioners to remember the actions of the London regiments who served so valiantly in WW1. To commemorate those who contributed to the war effort in our community, a WW1 themed youth and community event will be taking place following the Parade and we are inviting everyone to get involved.

The parade will begin at 10.35, which will see the Chelsea Pensioners exercising their Freedom of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea along with representatives of London’s Maritime Reserves; The Royal Yeomanry, The London Regiment, 600 Squadron RAuxAF and the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry. Don’t miss this opportunity to see so many of London’s Armed Forces personnel march together. Come along and show your support by lining the parade along the King’s Road.

Following the parade, head the Royal Hospital Chelsea’s Burton Court which will be open from 11am, with plenty of activities for all the family to enjoy.

This include (but are not limited to):

  • Arts and Crafts
  • Military arena displays
  • Interactive installations
  • Educational workshops
  • Refreshments
  • Singalongs
  • Military Vehicles

See you there!
