Glass Door Sleep Out goes In
The annual Glass Door fundraiser event returns this year, raising vital funds to ensure individuals can access support to end their chapter of homelessness in the community. With participant safety of the highest priority, this year’s Sleep Out has gone In!
On Friday, 2 October 2020, participants can take part in the Sleep Out (or In) from their very own gardens. Whether camping out in the living room, the garden, or even under your kitchen table, you can join in and help raise crucial awareness. Register, spend the night outside of your cosy bed and join the event virtually whilst enjoying a programme with a host of special guests including Colin Firth and Downton Abbey’s Jimmy Carter, who will be reading poems and bedtime stores, as well as an early morning yoga session.
Last year’s event raised a phenomenal £245,551, helping 829 individuals find safe shelter off the streets in winter. Glass Door are hoping that this year will enable more people than ever to get involved. It is devastating that between this April and June this year, the number of homeless sleepers rose by 77% and is only set to grow further as the full impact of Coronavirus takes hold. By spending one night out of your bed, you can help someone else find the shelter and support they need.
