On 5 September, TASCHEN invites you to meet the artist Christo at a signing of his new book, ‘Christo and Jean Claude – Barrels and the Mastaba’.
Christo and Jean-Claude collaborated for 35 years to create large-scale environmental pieces until 2009 when his wife sadly passed away. His newest installation in London was a 20m high temporary sculpture made of more than 7,500 multi-coloured barrels which coincides with a major exhibition at Serpentine Gallery. A collation of photography, sketches, models and designs, this latest book is the definitive guide to Christo and Jean-Claude’s barrel made sculptures.
Together, greatest achievements to date include wrapping the Reichstag in Berlin, as well as the Pont-Neug bridge in Paris. This evening, 5-6pm, is a fantastic opportunity to meet one of today’s greatest artists, Christo himself.
