The Annual Chelsea Bun Awards, hosted by Partridges, is back for its second year.
Entries are now open for all five categories, the winner to be announced on Saturday, 2 May 2020 at 3pm. Due to Covid-19, the competition has now gone virtual meaning, wherever you are, anyone can take part.
The competition is free to enter, however, participants are encourage to make a donation to The Children’s Surgery Foundation, supporting children undergoing treatment at the Chelsea & Westminster hospital.
All bakers need to do is make their Chelsea Bus, photograph them and either post on Instagram, using the hashtag #WorldChelseaBunAwards and tag @world.chelsea.bun.awards, or email their photograph via www.chelseabunawards.com. The deadline for submission is at 5pm onFriday 1 May 2020.
The judges include Michelin-stared chef and owner of restaurant Elystan Street; Philip Howard, Helene Frost; CEO of The Children’s Surgery Foundation and John Shepherd, owner of Partridges. They will be critiquing entries on how delicious they look, the originality and creativity of the recipe and the presentation.

All winners will also receive a Partridges certificate and the overall “Best Chelsea Bun Baker 2020” will win a £100 gift voucher from Merci Maman. For the very best standout bakers, a bonus prize of an invitation to learn about chocolate in an after-work Chocolate Truffles & Bourbons Demonstration at Cordon Bleu London.
