Chelsea History Festival 2025

The Chelsea History Festival returns from 24-28 September 2025, for five incredible days of talks, tours, performances, and family fun right on your doorstep. Taking place across the Royal Hospital Chelsea, National Army Museum, and Chelsea Physic Garden, the festival will bring the Chelsea Heritage Quarter to life with over 80 events and experiences for all ages.

Expect everything from immersive history re-enactments and creative workshops to interactive storytelling with Chelsea Pensioners—offering a chance to step inside some of the most extraordinary moments in global history. This year’s programme is packed with must-see highlights.

From a series of walking tours that bring to life Chelsea’s colourful history – uncover the stories of the remarkable women who helped shape the neighbourhood (book here); explore 330 years of heritage on a guided tour of the Royal Hospital Chelsea with one of its iconic Pensioners (book here) or trace the footsteps of music legends from the Rolling Stones to Hendrix on a rock ‘n’ roll tour with expert guide Jon Card (book here).

Elsewhere, join renowned literary historian Janet Todd as she reflects on a life shaped by Jane Austen and why the beloved author still resonates 250 years on (book here). Plus, don’t miss a heartwarming afternoon of music and memories with the Chelsea Pensioner Singers, performing their favourite tunes in the charming setting of the Soane Stable Yard (find out more here).

General admission to key venues is free, with ticketed sessions available at an affordable price.
