The Galway boot derives its name from the beautiful coastal county of Galway. Situated on the west coast of Ireland where the landscape is rugged and breathtaking. This is where our design team drew their inspiration from when creating the Galway boot. The hard wearing elements of Dubarry's homeland are echoed in the durability of the boot while the leathers signify the natural beauty.
The Dubarry Tweed Story
The history of tweed dates back to the early 18th Century where it was first created on Isles of the Scottish Outer Hebrides. The islanders used this fabric to withstand the harsh winters which they were exposed to.
Tweed has very much evolved and diversified over time. Designers and brands have taken their own interpretations of the tweed fabric and this has kept the story of tweed exciting over time.
Dubarry have created and designed exclusive tweeds for our brand and 2014 has seen some of our most exciting fabrics to date.
